After a contentious and difficult trial in front of a jury for nearly a week in the Circuit Court for the City of Virginia Beach, Attorney Adam Lotkin and his client, Marcia Emanuele were awarded a verdict in their favor against a local Gynecologist for leaving a sponge inside Mrs. Emanuele during surgery in June 2003. The sponge was removed 13 months later along with her ovary and fallopian tube that had adhered to the sponge material. The jury deliberated for nearly a half a day before returning a verdict in the amount of $400,000.00 plus interest from the date of negligence.
